Riding out of Seaside up the hill, I came across Eve, a cyclist I met at the mushroom picking event the day prior. I handed her a banana and we briefly chatted on the roadside before agreeing to meet for coffee in Cannon Beach. I stopped at the first establishment in town from the North, the Harding Trading Company.
Victor, a co-owner, made me a 16oz American and we chatted about my trip and destinations.
Eve soon showed up, drenched, and plugged in her electronics that needed a charge. We chatted over coffee and got on the topics of scooters. I offered to give her a lesson and soon she was cruising laps of the parking lot.
Just up the road before Arch Cove I found a waterfall and sheltered campsite from the blowing storm. Eve caught up and popped her tent in the soft ground surrounded by soaking wet cedars.
In May 2014 I quit my job to ride a Honda Ruckus over 69'000 mi and counting. Wild camping most nights and cooking most of my own meals, I keep the costs low and the landscape changing.
