Ruck'n around Southern MD (2013)
I figured if I have a SMIB sticker on my helmet, I'd have to venture to the land of bad drivers soon enough. I completed a three day hike in two days so found my Labor Day free. Time for a no-direction, carefree ride on the scooter is in order. I packed a bathing suit, towel, snacks, sandals and sunscreen and OFF I WENT!
First probolem: I cannot cross the Wilson Bridge legally.
I went through Oldtowne Alexandria instead.
I had to venture all the way into DC then find a way across the Anacostia as well.
:wave DC Rider
I cruised up Penn Ave to Temple Hill to Livingston and eventually down to Bensville (Familiar terrain)
OH NO! A turtle. Die schildekröte sind meine leiblingstier :clap
Ruckus approves.
Cruised up to Chapel Point for the view. I checked my email and had a tip about a nearby beach from GS Pilot. Thanks! :thumb
Chapel Point Recreation Area
Found myself a private little beach to read on and relax for a few hours.
More and more fisherman began crowding around and there was a veritable multi-family beach party going on beside me so I decided to peace out. GO RUCKUS GO!!!
Wound up at Mattawoman Creek
Then I went "exploring"
Stuff you don't normally do on a big bike...like aimlessly ride through a forest. I only got hung up on a couple tree trunks.
Deciding a tresspassing arrest or fine was not on the agenda for the day, I made my way back toward home. I just liked this sign considering I brewed a whisky-beer not too long ago.
Damn near pegged. Pretty good for a 49cc engine.
Accokeek
I cruised up Indian Head into the district then over past the WSSC to the S. Cap St. Bridge with a view of the Anacostia Waterfront and the stadium. Traffic became heavy and I focused on not getting killed the rest of the way home.
Afterward, I took the other new Ruckus for a short ride around town to shake it down.
Will he keep both Rucki'? Will he sell them both and buy a newer one? What fabric socks does he really wear? All this and more...STAY TUNED :norton
