From a Wedding to "Where-da-fugawi?"
I had to attend a College friend's wedding in Berryville. I dressed very nicely then made my way out there midday. It sorta threw a wrench into my weekend plans of riding all over the place but I enjoyed the time with him. Shortly before dusk, I made my exit, hopped on the bike and set forth to meet Dr. Beard at our agreed upon location: one of 165 campsites within a 300 acre nature preserve. How hard could it be!? :evil
Rainbow
I passed this old Model A but apparently so did Matt shortly before me as he was somewhere up ahead.
To all those folks dancing at the wedding...you are missing this :deal (oh and you probably have glitter on you - that just sucks)
Beard and I woke the following morning and hit some awesome twisties. In the middle of nowhere we came across this giant roadside figurine display in someone's yard. I have no clue...
Matt stopping to support AMERICA
We visited the Paw Paw Tunnel. Second time in as many weeks for me.
Green Ridge State Forest negotiating a stream crossing
much greener than last weekend!
Dr. Beard doing his thang
Yup...that'll do.
I loved the louvered hood and wheel arches on this really old school bus. I wonder if it once drove this old weather beaten dirt road.
Just one of many U-Turns for the day. GPS doesn't recognize closed gates very well.
TONS OF TORQUE
Windows Desktop in 3....2....1....
Some random covered bridge with fisherman
Raystown Lake
Stopped for lunch/snack
wait a second...what the hell is Beard doing!? That bike is a virgin!
I just liked the name
Opel GT in its final resting place
Big Valley
Amish
Spotted this cool power line cut so we rode up to see what we could
Then into a hidden valley on the other side of the ridge for miles and miles of gravel fun
Rest time. Weary bones and dehydrated muscles.
This section of road was fabulous.
Father and son fishing in their small town on a Sunday afternoon. M'erica
LIFE IS GOOD
Dusted Beard. Sorry buddy. They had recently graded the roads and the rocks were slippery and washy like crazy. Took some getting used to and had to stay really loose on the controls.
In Gambrill State Park for the night. This shit is crazy
Spotted this neat rock formation off the gravel road. I'm looking forward to hiking this area some more.
may sleep here:
I set up camp along a side road and had some Indian food along a stream. It was delicious and washed it down with the rest of my whiskey.
After camping out next to the small creek and hearing the voices of the water all night, I woke early and reminded myself I needed to be home at work by 9. No poblem.
Do I have a cure for the Monday blues...
Creepiest Van Award goes to this guy
I opted to ride the backroads through MD to get home to Arlington. I avoided most of the rush hour and never got on the highway :thumb
