I forgot to mention that in Bellevue, I stopped at the post office for a package from my friend Keith in WV. He emailed a week earlier asking if I'd accept a care package along the way. When I opened it up I was shocked at the plethora of necessities within. One ziplock bag was all munchies, candy, vitamin C drops, jerky and slim jims. All perfect river food and none of it meltable. The second bag was lotions, sponge, bug spray and other sundries. I was in hog-heaven at this kind gesture and remarkable surprise. THanks to Keith and everyone else who made this small shipment possible. It looms huge in my memory and my heart.
