This morning I stopped at a lush cypress trail park for coffee and oatmeal. While sipping my morning cup-o-joe, a man pedaled up on his recumbent bicycle. He introduced himself as Marion Smith and asked where I was heading. We spent the next 20 minutes discussing all manner of world events, politics, religion and the future of our nation. I was amazed at his intellect and thoughtfulness for a man of 80. He bicycles 12-25 miles each day and credits a good diet, exercise and faith as his fountain of youth. While having hands over my scooter he prayed for me, my family and a safe travel to come. If I meet a man such as Marion again, I'd consider it another uniquely "blessed" day. It was a pleasure sir - you made my day.
I hope you and your wife find my travels a worthwhile read. The pictures I take barely capture the experiences I have each day on two wheels. Safe pedaling my friend.
