I would take my chances and continue to ride an additional 1000mi with this worn bearing. I tackled the Top of the World Hwy and much of the Klondike Hwy with a shot bearing, hoping that the one on the left side wouldn't disintegrate as well. With a jubilant smile, I rolled into Whitehorse, knowing I could at least rest here for a few days and wait for the shop to open on Tuesday.
I was outside Canadian Tire admiring a traveler on an R69S when a red Ducati ST3 pulled up. Mike introduced himself and asked about my trip and the bike. I mentioned the bearing and how I was going to have to pay the shop to do the work. He eyed the situation and my ratty gear then said "Well you know, I have a bearing puller set I could loan you." We drove up the hill to his garage which he offered use of for my procedure.
