Today I met up with a team from www.egarage.com for a video shoot in Pacifica featuring me, the Ruckus and my journey. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by their easy-going nature and willingness to bend rules from time to time. I had to chuckle as we filmed at the grocery store I made oatmeal at in the rain at 5am this morning. Later we were making a shot outside of a church where I napped at 6am waiting for the wind and rain to pass. I felt like I "knew" that town after my 24hrs spent there. After filming in town and around the beach, we headed up the walking trail to Mori Point. I pushed the Ruckus up until the very end to avoid any violations from a lurking ranger. The weather was in our favor as the sun set with amazing clouds nestled in the mountains. Riding up there along the coast reminded me much of Newfoundland and how my heart longs for those areas in the north. All things in time.

Hi Mike, glad you are still around having fun. I lived in Pillar point for several years building a boat and met Candy there. My sister Leah lives in Montera. Great pics of the coast. Make sure to rinse off the bike if you get into the mist coming from the waves, it's salty. My son loves your blog and really liked what you wrote about us. Cheers

Having a camera crew focus on you is just one more indication of the curious nature of your adventure in the eyes of outsiders. I've spoken of your trip often to riders and non-riders and the reactions are always the same. Riders shake their heads in disbelief at attempting what you're doing with a 49cc machine. And non-riders shake their heads at the sheer magnitude of the journey.

Mike SaundersIn May 2014 I quit my job to ride a Honda Ruckus over 69'000 mi and counting. Wild camping most nights and cooking most of my own meals, I keep the costs low and the landscape changing. Archives
