I'm planning the upcoming month's trip through Alaska at the public library. I plan to ride the Parks Hwy down to Anchorage past Denali, then cruise to the Homer Spit and Anchor Point (westernmost continuous road in AK). From there I will work in a roundabout fashion up to Dawson City for the "Sourtoe Cocktail" before cruising into Skagway to meet my folks for Mom's birthday. I hope the weather holds out and doesn't declare polar war on the "little scooter that could".

I think you had a lot of people praying for you on that ride north. And they were answered.

Thanks. I can use all the advice and help I can get as I cruise down the desolate roads of AK. It is wild up here and I love it!

No wildlife encounters yet? Or maybe I missed something?

I've seen black and brown bear, moose, caribou, Elk, sheep, eagles, squirrels and more. Most of those pics are on my real cameras waiting for upload. The wildlife up here is abundant if you know how to look and listen.

Mike SaundersIn May 2014 I quit my job to ride a Honda Ruckus over 69'000 mi and counting. Wild camping most nights and cooking most of my own meals, I keep the costs low and the landscape changing. Archives
